Life Coach Stella S. Ferrarez examined the possible reasons why children can commit serious crimes, such as the case involving two Grade 9 students in Tacloban City.
She explained that many youths who commit such offenses often suffer from conduct disorder, usually due to experiences of abuse or constant exposure to violence in their environment.
Because of these experiences, hurting others becomes normalized as their way of releasing tension.
Even though these children understand their actions, Ferrarez revealed that they struggle to control their thoughts, especially when anger or revenge arises.
She clarified that young people with anti-social tendencies must be understood so they can receive proper attention and rehabilitation.
