CDO Fire District Investigator FO2 Kyle Nichol Reyes dismissed social media claims alleging political intervention in the temporary release of a Barangay Lapasan arson suspect as false information.
Reyes clarified that neither Mayor Rolando Uy nor the Bureau of Fire Protection unilaterally ordered the suspect’s release, noting that standard criminal procedure required release outside of in flagrante delicto arrests.
He advised the public against relying on unverified online content while formal preliminary investigations proceed.
