The Gabriela group condemned diplomatic relations and agreements that place the country at a disadvantage. In her interview with Bombo Radyo, Dr. Jean A. Lindo from the group stated that even though the word “Pax” means peace, such agreements still do not favor Filipinos.
She explained that international relations and diplomatic agreements like “Pax Silica” instead bring disadvantages to our country.
Furthermore, despite explanations that it means peace, it is connected to United States military activities and silica mining in our lands.
Thus, she clarified that this cannot be called a true success or accomplishment, as it only brings trouble and problems to the people.
