The Gender and Development office emphasized that the colorful identity of the LGBTQ+ community should not be seen as a weakness.
Sol Paeste-Mosqueda of GAD stated that members of the community have strong capacity to articulate their goals and direction.
However, she stressed that the sector must be given sufficient space to fully exercise their human rights, especially in specific social situations.
Considering the challenges faced by the community in recent years, GAD believes it is only right to provide LGBTQ+ members with opportunities to strengthen their sector as an integral part of society.
