The City Health Office urged the public to take precautions against heatstroke as temperatures continue to rise, highlighting high risks for elderly individuals and young children.

City Health Officer Dr. Rachel Daba-Dilla reported that while no heat-related fatalities have been recorded in Cagayan de Oro, several residents have experienced severe electrolyte depletion.

Dr. Dilla advised that individuals experiencing dizziness, headaches, or an inability to sweat should be brought immediately to a medical facility. She added that fluids should never be force-fed to an unconscious individual to avoid pulmonary complications.
