Chris Canizares, president of Hero Riders CDO (HRCDO-ALU), confirmed that the government is still collecting names of delivery riders to qualify them for fuel subsidies.
His group has registered with the Cagayan de Oro City Government, stressing that riders are struggling to refuel their motorcycles due to soaring gasoline prices.
Canizares appealed for faster registration, noting that despite the high fuel costs, riders continue working to provide for their families.
Aside from taxi drivers, local authorities have also listed food hailing app riders.
Mayor Klarex Uy assured them that funds will be sourced to ease their hardship.
