Approximately 80 families representing united Dumagat, Maranao, Manobo, and Higaonon communities in Mambuaya are contesting a series of legal actions aimed at evicting them from their residential lands.
Lay theologian Wilson Amad stated that filing multiple court cases forces low-income residents to bear unsustainable legal expenses, citing attorney retainers of ₱40,000 in the Municipal Trial Court and ₱80,000 in the Regional Trial Court.
Amad appealed for interreligious dialogue and legal consideration while pending petitions—including a prayer for a Temporary Restraining Order against demolition and an Ombudsman complaint—await judicial resolution, emphasizing that even residents holding ancestral land titles inherited from parents have been named in the suits.
