The Kabataan Partylist group questioned why the NTF-ELCAC continues to operate when it should already be dismantled, given their own admission that they no longer have rebels to fight.
Cobbie Jan Canda from the group stated that they consider the agency a waste of public funds.
Canda argued that it would be better to divert the 8 billion pesos in funding toward education and social services for Filipinos.
Furthermore, he observed that the agency’s clear purpose is to conduct attacks, intelligence gathering, and the intimidation of activists.
