The Kabataan Partylist, represented by Cobbie Jan Canda, called for an immediate halt to funding the NTF-ELCAC—which stands at 8.1 billion pesos—citing a lack of transparency and the risk of funds being misused for military corruption.
The official added that instead of providing security, the funds have been weaponized for attacks, surveillance, and intimidation against progressive groups, as seen in the Southern Mindanao Region.
Canda also criticized the agency’s lack of clear accomplishments despite significant allocations given to supposedly insurgency-free barangays.
Thus, the youth leader maintains that these funds would be better redirected to educational services and economic relief programs.
