Konsumanteng Kagay-anon Inc. called on the Cagayan de Oro city government and local power distributors to review electricity billing structures and reduce extra line-item charges on consumer utility statements.
Group president Marlon G. Libot stated that cutting unnecessary surcharges would provide immediate relief to local households.
Clarifying that pass-through system losses are capped at 5 percent by regulation, Libot urged the City Council to conduct a thorough review of the billing framework to reduce overall electricity costs for Kagay-anon families.
