Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) Northern Mindanao Leader Tita Hadman called on the national government to develop long-term agricultural and water management infrastructure to address drought risks associated with El Niño.

Hadman contrasted temporary household water conservation advisories with international practices, pointing to subterranean water storage and flood-capturing technologies utilized in countries like Japan.

She urged the Department of Agriculture and national agencies to implement sustainable infrastructure investments to support farmers and urban communities.
