CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – A devastating fire broke out in Lapaz 2, Kolambog, Brgy Lapasan leaving three residents injured. on Tuesday.
According to Bureau of Fire Protection- Lapasan Station Commander Fire Inspector Louise Salumo, the blaze started on the second floor of a house belonging to Ivory Domecillo, allegedly due to neglected cooking.
The fire wreaked havoc, completely destroying six houses and partially damaging another six, resulting in structural damage estimated at 450,000 pesos.
Lapasan Barangay Chief Julito Ogsimer stated that the victims of the fire are currently being sheltered in the covered center.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the fire, while the community rallies to support those affected by this tragic event.
