Lay theologian Wilson Amad strongly criticized legislative proposals to postpone the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE), attributing the push to political self-interest and administrative underperformance at the local level.

Amad expressed concern that Congress and the Senate might approve the postponement to extend incumbent tenure without public mandate.

He urged lawmakers to align their legislative priorities with democratic accountability rather than measures that prolong local terms without electoral validation.
