Atty. Samson So Tan of the Liceo de Cagayan University College of Law strongly criticized the administration’s decision to postpone the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections, describing the delay as an indicator of irresponsible governance and administrative incapacity.
Tan argued that repeatedly deferring grass-roots elections reflects broader failures in handling critical national issues, including disaster preparedness.
He emphasized that although barangay elections are local, repeatedly postponing democratic transitions demonstrates institutional unaccountability and impacts national governance.
