Agricultural Productivity Operations Office Acting Department Manager Engr. Bernie Daba Jr. acknowledged that encouraging traditional farmers to adopt modern agricultural methods requires hands-on guidance.
To assist local farmers, APOO is conducting Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) programs and field caravans supported by agricultural technicians.
Daba remarked that many local farmers maintain a “see-it-to-believe-it” approach, acting like practical scientists who carefully evaluate new techniques before adopting them.
He added that farmers are increasingly embracing modern tools as they experience firsthand how technology reduces heavy manual labor in upland communities.
