City Information Officer Jade Adeser appealed to the public for a 30-day adjustment period regarding the provincial bus and jeepney ban under Section 120 of City Ordinance 10551-2007, which aims to decongest city traffic and reduce vehicle emissions.
Adeser stated that Mayor Klarex Uy ordered the creation of a specialized task force targeting road obstructions.
Concurrently, personnel from the Dispersal and Traffic Management Unit and the Roads and Traffic Administration have been deployed to step up vehicle clamping and issue citation tickets for illegal and double parking.
While enforcing street discipline, the LGU requested local transport groups to step in and shuttle incoming provincial passengers from the designated Westbound and Agora terminals into the city proper.
Preventive traffic management measures will remain ongoing throughout the trial period.
