LGU Villanueva assured that the operations of Keim Hing Steel Corp in Misamis Oriental have met all local requirements and permits.
Israel Permi, Special Assistant to the Mayor, clarified that the plant has complete local clearances for fees, sanitation, health, the building code, ECC, and fire safety.
However, the official clarified that they do not possess the specialized equipment required to determine whether the raw materials used by the company contain hazardous or radioactive chemicals.
Consequently, the local government respects the ongoing checks by national agencies such as the NBI and DTI should there be allegations requiring investigation.
