Liberal Youth Northern Mindanao Chairman Andre Josol criticized arguments citing fiscal austerity as a justification to postpone the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE), calling it a pretext to restrict community-level suffrage.
Josol pointed out that over ₱8 billion in public funds have already been allocated and the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is fully prepared for the polls.
He asserted that repeatedly altering election schedules undermines local governance and misuses allocated state funds.
