City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) Disaster Risk Reduction Management Head Sofia Tongson confirmed the deployment of modular tents and the establishment of a community kitchen to support over 300 displaced residents following a major fire in Barangay Lapasan.
The blaze destroyed 92 houses, affected 108 families, and caused an estimated ₱4.5 million in property damage.
Tongson added that the Lapasan National High School covered court is being prepared as an auxiliary evacuation center to relieve overcrowding at the primary facility in Santa Cruz.
