Student leader Gayle Escobido called on the local government of Cagayan de Oro to streamline the city’s transport system to relieve the daily commute struggles faced by students, workers, and commuters.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Escobido stated that enforcing City Ordinance No. 10551-2007 places an unnecessary strain on daily commuters.
She argued that the government should prioritize providing convenient transit options rather than increasing travel time and stress. Furthermore, she pointed out that commuters arriving from neighboring towns contribute significantly to the city’s local economy, urging unity during tough economic times rather than policies that create division.
Escobido emphasized that a collaborative community approach is necessary to achieve genuine solutions for all commuters
