The United Drivers Association (UNIDA) announced the withdrawal of its planned participation in Monday’s transport strike following the approval of a ₱1.00 base fare increase and anticipated decreases in commercial fuel prices.
UNIDA President Joel Gabatan confirmed that local drivers chose to maintain normal operations after the minimum fare was adjusted to ₱14.00, supplemented by a ₱0.20 per-kilometer distance rate.
Gabatan stated that continuing regular service avoids disrupting commuters while providing financial relief to operators.
