The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region 10 intensified operations targeting public utility vehicles (PUVs) that fail to comply with safety and operational standards.
LTFRB Region 10 Regional Director Aljo Bendijo clarified that enforcement extends beyond colorum (unregistered) operators to include unmaintained, dilapidated, and non-roadworthy vehicles.
In addition, regulators are inspecting driver decorum, enforcing dress code requirements such as collared shirts and long pants instead of undershirts, shorts, or sandals while operating.
Bendijo added that inspectors will continue verifying franchise documents and operating permits to ensure professional public transport service across the region.
