The local government pushed through with the Peoples Day event in Barangay Camaman-an yesterday despite the earthquake that occurred during the program.
According to Acting City Information Officer Jade Adeser, the activity was temporarily halted for about 30 minutes to assess the surroundings after participants felt the tremor.
Adeser added that experts from City Hall inspected the area, particularly the covered court where services were being held, to ensure public safety.
Despite the incident, the program successfully served a total of 1,412 beneficiaries from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. The official later confirmed that no further issues were encountered and the event was completed smoothly.
