The Misamis Oriental Provincial Health Office warned residents to guard against heat-related illnesses linked to ongoing El Niño conditions.
Health Education and Promotion Officer II Rainier Frederick Miego reported that most local government units across the province suspended in-person classes to shield students from high heat stroke risks.
Miego noted that the municipality of Claveria was excluded from the suspension due to its naturally cooler climate.
He reminded the public to limit direct sun exposure and stay hydrated.
