The provincial government of Misamis Oriental has tightened entry points to protect the province from African Swine Fever (ASF).

Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Benjamin Resma stated that strict inspections are being carried out on pigs entering from other provinces to prevent the disease’s re-entry.

Measures include continuous collection of blood samples from livestock to confirm ASF-free status.

This initiative follows Governor Juliette Uy’s directive to safeguard the province’s hog industry.
