NAMFREL MisOr-CDO Chapter Representative Nestor Banuag voiced formal opposition to House Bill No. 10376, which proposes delaying the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) scheduled for November.
Banuag asserted that the local polls must proceed on November 2, 2026, rather than extending incumbent terms to five years.
The watch group stressed that regular democratic elections serve as the primary mechanism to ensure leader accountability to local communities.
