Luz Antiza P. Denuyo, founder of Ganda Natural Farming System of the Philippines, Inc., cited illegal mining, illegal logging, and unsustainable agricultural practices as primary drivers of environmental degradation and rising ambient temperatures.
Denuyo stated that reliance on synthetic farm chemicals harms soil health in pursuit of quick yields.
She noted that smallholder farmers often face legal penalties while large-scale entities driving deforestation remain unpunished, calling on LGUs, government agencies, and religious leaders to enforce comprehensive environmental protections.
