Luz Antiza P. Denuyo, founder of Ganda Natural Farming System of the Philippines, Inc., identified illegal mining, illegal logging, and unsustainability in farming practices as primary drivers of regional environmental degradation.

Denuyo stated that reliance on synthetic agricultural chemicals damages soil and ecosystem health in pursuit of short-term yields.

She noted that impoverished farming communities often bear the consequences of environmental enforcement, whereas large-scale entities behind deforestation frequently evade accountability.

Denuyo called for joint initiatives among government agencies, LGUs, and civic groups to enforce environmental protection laws.
