Atty. Constantino Tinnex Jaraula emphasized that the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is mandated by law to investigate threats against government officials, even if they are not the direct victims.
He warned that failure to act would be a major lapse in duty and could be grounds for resignation of NBI officials.
He clarified that the agency must provide protection to threatened officials regardless of who the offended party is.
