Reginaldo Guillen, Nutrition Program Coordinator of the National Nutrition Council Region 10, highlighted the importance of linking environmental protection with nutrition during the National Nutrition Month celebration.
He expressed concern over the rise in stunting rates in Northern Mindanao from 25% to 27%, urging stronger collaboration to address the issue.
Guillen explained that the theme “Likas-Kaya” emphasizes the natural responsibility of citizens to care for the environment and eat nutritious food for sustainable development.
He encouraged everyone to join tree-planting activities to ensure future generations benefit from a healthy environment and sustainable food systems.
