When tremors were felt, personnel of the Opol Municipal Police Station led by PMAJ Antonio Y. Luy Jr. quickly responded to assist students, teachers, and staff of Opol Central School.
The police ensured the proper implementation of the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure while guiding the safe and orderly evacuation of pupils to designated secure areas.
Authorities continued to monitor the situation and coordinated with concerned agencies to ensure that no accidents occurred during the incident.
After the evacuation, PMAJ Luy reminded the public to remain calm, vigilant, and to follow established safety protocols during emergencies
.Thanks to the swift action of the police, the students remained safe and no untoward incidents were reported following the earthquake.
