Tingog Partylist Representative Jude Acidre stated that the prosecution’s case against Vice President Sara Duterte has strengthened following revelations of irregularities and inconsistencies in confidential fund liquidation records.
Acidre noted that former State Auditor Roderick Wamil’s testimony revealed confidential funds were used for prohibited expenses, including the purchase of equipment and supplies.
Furthermore, timing violations were discovered where acknowledgment receipts were dated well past allowable disbursement deadlines.
Acidre stressed that these findings, alongside the use of fictitious names, demonstrate that documents submitted by the Office of the Vice President itself build a stronger case for institutional accountability.
