Partidong Manggagawa and the Nagkaisa Labor Coalition renewed calls to abolish the country’s Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPB).

Partidong Manggagawa Chairperson Ka Rene Magtubo argued that the 30-year-old regional wage-setting framework has failed to provide living wages in the provinces, leaving minimum wage earners outside Metro Manila below the poverty line.

Magtubo proposed replacing regional boards with a unified national minimum wage structure that reflects the real cost of living across the entire country.
