LTC. Joe Patrick Martinez, spokesperson of the 4th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army, confirmed that the New People’s Army (NPA) is now struggling to enter the provinces of Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, and Agusan del Sur due to the strict reporting system in communities.
He said that the quick relay of information from civilians to the 8th Infantry Battalion has helped prevent rebel plans.
Because of this cooperation, the military has significantly minimized rebel movements, with only 18 active members left in the North Central Mindanao Regional Committee.
As a result, additional troops will be deployed to expand clearing operations and push the remaining rebels to surrender.
