The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that 1,048 personnel faced administrative charges in 490 cases from January to March 2026, a sharp increase from 770 personnel in 332 cases during the same period last year.
Of those charged, 806 were Police Non-Commissioned Officers and 242 were Police Commissioned Officers, showing accountability across all ranks. The Internal Affairs Service (IAS) recommended sanctions for 323 personnel, including 41 dismissals, 64 suspensions, 20 demotions, and 11 reprimands, while 187 were exonerated.
PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. emphasized that discipline is non-negotiable, stressing integrity and fairness in the police service.
He highlighted that the PNP’s goal is not only to correct lapses but to build a culture where doing right is the standard.
These measures form part of the PNP’s Focused Agenda on Integrity Monitoring, aligned with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s governance thrust to strengthen public trust in institutions.
