CEPALCO Assistant Vice President Marilyn Chavez called on consumers to conserve electricity following the declaration of a Red Alert status across the Mindanao grid.
Chavez explained that sustained high temperatures have compressed power generation capacities across the island.
Alongside energy conservation, Chavez advised residents to limit unnecessary outdoor exposure, stay hydrated, use umbrellas to prevent heat stroke, and wear face masks to protect against ambient regional haze.
