Private practitioner Atty. Adonis Gumahad stated that the Vice President’s impeachment trial could be temporarily suspended if the Supreme Court issues a temporary restraining order (TRO).
Gumahad explained that the scope of any stay order depends on high court determinations—whether halting the trial entirely or restricting enforcement of the 14-vote baseline.
He added that while legal petitions brought by Atty. Vic Rodriguez are pending, Senate trial preparation continues until an official judicial order is served.
