House Prosecution Panel Spokesperson and Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong revealed in an exclusive interview with BOMBO RADYO CDO that there were clear irregularities in the timing of certain activities and in the official release of government funds.
According to Adiong, among the pieces of evidence gathered by the prosecution was the statement of state auditor Xylene Mae Del Campo Ocampo, who said that some activities had already been conducted as early as January 2023 even though the confidential funds of the Office of the Vice President had not yet been officially released.
“We found out that these activities are actually done prior to the release of the confidential funds,” Adiong said.
Because of this, it appears that the proper standards and provisions set in the Joint Circular were not followed.
Lawmakers emphasized that every peso spent by the government must have the correct date and solid justification.
With this discovery, the prosecutorial panel asserted that a serious violation of policy occurred in the spending.
