Many families in Region 10 face ongoing food insecurity and poverty despite existing government interventions.
NAPC OIC-Assistant Secretary Ana C. Cañeda highlighted that Bukidnon and Lanao del Norte remain top priority areas for regional poverty reduction based on Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) data.
The official noted that while local government tax collection remains strong, full implementation of the Magna Carta of the Poor is necessary to address persistent household income shortfalls.
However, Cañeda clarified that provisional government assistance continues to provide crucial relief against hunger while long-term livelihood programs are developed.
