Atty. Jojo Lacalinao, Lead Convenor of the Duterte Panagutin Campaign Network Movement, strongly questioned the decision to let Senator Rodante Marcoleta lead the re-investigation of the flood control issue in the Blue Ribbon committee.

Lacalinao argued that the credibility of the probe has already been compromised since Marcoleta himself faces allegations of graft and corruption.

He expressed concern that the hearings could be maneuvered or railroaded to absolve individuals who should otherwise be held accountable under the law.

The lawyer recalled Marcoleta’s previous attempts to turn alleged key perpetrators of ghost projects into state witnesses, despite reports of their ownership of more than twenty luxury cars.

Because of this, Lacalinao insisted that the move lacks integrity and warned that the public will find it difficult to trust the outcome of the committee’s proceedings.
