Dr. Lani Palmones of the Professional Regulatory Board of Criminology expressed hopes that the haircut requirement for female police trainees will be changed in the future.
According to the official, cutting hair extremely short is currently part of the Philippine National Police training procedure.
However, Palmones clarified that this does not help and has no valid reason to make women look like men just to prove their capability in training.
The official added that the board hopes public safety agencies will implement more humane and appropriate policies for women.
