Tingog Partylist Representative Jude Acidre emphasized the gravity of former Commission on Audit (COA) state auditor Roderick Wamil’s testimony regarding the spending of confidential funds.
According to the prosecution witness, confidential fund expenditures must strictly adhere to established regulations and cannot be disbursed arbitrarily.
Acidre noted that while certain spending scenarios are permissible, strict compliance with COA guidelines is the bare minimum requirement for every public official.
He concluded that the disbursements in question reveal serious red flags that demand a clear explanation to the public.
