The “Bigay Bigas Para sa Masa” program rolled out in the municipalities of Lugait, Manticao, Naawan, and Initao, benefiting a total of 20,759 individuals or household recipients on June 5, 2026.

Governor Juliette T. Uy reaffirmed her commitment that the provincial government will always stand by its people, while also calling for unity to strengthen public services.

Joining her were Provincial Board Member Princess Emano, DILG Misamis Oriental Provincial Director Engr. Marisia Naybe, and DSWD Region 10 Protective Services Division Chief Sean Pamela Balais, who reminded beneficiaries that government support remains a reliable lifeline in times of hardship.

The initiative, funded through the Local Government Support Fund – Financial Assistance to Local Government Units, is aimed at assisting vulnerable sectors such as senior citizens, persons with disabilities, solo parents, farmers, fisherfolk, and transport workers.

Especially during the ongoing crisis, recipients expressed deep gratitude for the rice assistance, which they said provided much‑needed relief from food insecurity.
