Delivery riders are pushing for stronger protection against dangers on the road. Geoffrey Labudahon of the National Union of Food Delivery Riders (RIDERS-SENTRO) said riders face daily risks such as traffic and fear of crimes while working.
He admitted that lack of adequate protection is a major challenge for their sector. Because of this, he urged government agencies to prioritize riders’ safety by creating programs and measures to shield them from criminal elements.
Labudahon reminded both the public and the government that riders’ lives are valuable and should not be put in constant danger.
