The National Union of Food Delivery, better known as Riders-Sentro, voiced disappointment over the lack of response from the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) regarding their request for fuel subsidies.
National coordinator Geoffrey Labudahon cited Cagayan de Oro riders as among those still without assistance, blaming platform companies for failing to submit lists of registered riders.
He added that in Northern Luzon, only a few received government links to claim aid, while some unlisted riders accessed them first.
Most alarming, Labudahon revealed that of the 16,000 registered food riders nationwide, only 4,000 are covered by the government’s limited budget, leaving 12,000 members without any subsidy.
