CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – The Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) has announced that it will not immediately penalize jeepney drivers who fail to adhere to the newly implemented routes in Cagayan de Oro City.

This decision comes as part of an effort to educate and inform both drivers and passengers about the new transport scheme, which began partial implementation on Monday.

RTA spokesperson James Andrade emphasized that the focus is currently on raising awareness and understanding of the new routes.

“We are prioritizing education over enforcement at this stage,” Andrade stated.

“Our goal is to ensure that everyone is well-informed about the changes.”

The new routes have caused some confusion, leading to instances where drivers and passengers were stranded.

The RTA is working to address these issues and provide clear guidance to minimize disruptions.

The community is encouraged to stay updated on the new routes and cooperate with the RTA as they continue to roll out the new transport scheme.
