The resumption of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee’s investigation into irregularities in flood control projects is long overdue.
This is the view of Ray Talimio Jr., Co-Chairperson of the Economic Development Committee (RDC-X), after Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano announced that it will restart this coming June 4, 2026.
Talimio considers the previous investigation incomplete because former chair Senator Lacson was only able to produce a partial report.
Because of this, the committee will begin sending out subpoenas this Monday to the individuals who will be invited to the hearing. Talimio further added that the appearance of Senator Bato dela Rosa changed the course of the election for the new Senate majority.
In fact, due to the unexpected abstention of Senator JV Ejercito, the minority only garnered 12 votes instead of the 14 that were needed.
