PRO-10 Spokesperson PMAJ Joan Navarro announced that two police officers identified in the shooting of a 38-year-old man in Sitio Lumboy, Barangay Indahag, Cagayan de Oro City have been subjected to inquest proceedings for frustrated murder.
Based on initial investigations, the incident originated at a local carnival on the night of September 21 when the intoxicated victim accidentally brushed past the officers, culminating in a gunshot wound to his thigh.
Navarro added that the officers face a motu proprio administrative investigation from the Internal Affairs Service (IAS) for discharging their service firearms and fleeing the scene instead of rendering medical assistance to the victim.
Consequently, police leadership assured that the organization will not condone or tolerate any unlawful conduct by its personnel.
