Despite the country’s desire to avoid war, lay theologian Wilson C. Amad insisted that Filipinos should not remain silent amid ongoing tensions in the West Philippine Sea and Batanes.
He assured that even with limited resources, the people are prepared to defend national territory for future generations.
Amad believes that by voicing opposition to China’s actions, the international community will listen and strengthen the Philippines’ position.
While war is not a priority, he stressed the importance of reinforcing military defense while continuing to uphold peace.
