Professor Anna Malindog-Uy, Secretary General of the Association for the Philippines-China Understanding, criticized pro-American groups in the Philippines and certain U.S. actors whom she accused of pushing the country into conflict with China.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Uy stressed that the Philippines should not resort to confrontation or the use of force, warning that such actions only endanger the nation.
She argued that military solutions would worsen regional tensions rather than resolve them.
Uy emphasized that the best path for the Philippine government is peaceful negotiation and diplomacy to achieve a fair settlement.
She clarified that rejecting the use of force should not be misinterpreted as betrayal of the country.
According to her, it is misguided to label Filipinos who advocate for a peaceful stance as traitors.
Instead, she urged the public to recognize that diplomacy and dialogue are legitimate, patriotic approaches to safeguarding national interests.
